Child Nutrition Services seeks food, meal site sponsors

Herald staffMarch 10, 2014

Child Nutrition Services will soon begin accepting applications from organizations interested in being a sponsor of the federal Summer Food Service Program.

Sponsors provide meals at summer meal sites for summer school, camps and nonprofits. Colleges participating in the Upward Bound Program also may sponsor meal sites.

Eligible sponsors are those who operate a nonprofit meal program during the summer for children age 18 and younger.

Meal sites must be in areas where at least 50 percent of the children qualify for free or reduced-price school meals.

Call CNS at 725-6200 for more information.
