Deadline approaching for education grants

Applications for the Washington Apple Education Foundation Farmworker Education Grant are available at www.waef.

org, and must be submitted to the Washington Apple Education Foundation by Saturday.

The 2014 grants will be awarded to organizations that provide educational programs to adult learners in geographic areas where the tree fruit industry has a heavy preference: community groups, religious institutions, public or private schools, and so on.

Applicants should offer programs for adult learners in areas such as citizenship preparation, English as a second language, adult basic education and life skill development and parent empowerment.
