Purina nutrition expert Mike Miller will visit two Bleyhl Country Stores to conduct classes on raising poultry.

The classes are Saturday in Pasco and Monday in Sunnyside. Miller will explain how to properly care for chicks, with emphasis on feed, housing and health issues, as well as how to care for adult birds.

In Pasco, Miller will be available for an informal question and answer session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the store, 1126 W. Ainsworth St.

The Sunnyside class will be a sit-down seminar at 5:30 p.m. in the store, 1720 Eastway Drive. No pre-registration is required.

Participants at both events will receive discount feed coupons.

This is the first year Bleyhl has sponsored educational classes in conjunction with its annual March Chick Days event, said Dennis Ross, store operations manager.

Bleyhl sells about 20,000 chicks each spring from retail stores in Toppenish, Zillah, Pasco, Sunnyside and Grandview.
