Royal City man injured in apparent gang-related shooting

— An elderly man was injured Wednesday night when a suspect fired two rounds from a shotgun into a house near Royal City.

The shooting was gang related and the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit is investigating, the sheriff’s office said.

The man was sleeping in the front bedroom as the shotgun was fired at the front of the house into the kitchen, the sheriff’s office said. He suffered a minor injury and declined medical treatment.

A male was seen running around 10:45 p.m. from the house on the 4000 block of Road 10.4-Southwest, the sheriff’s office said. He got into a car and sped off toward Royal City.
