Professor to discuss parental involvement and academics

WALLA WALLA -- The Whitman College Department of Sociology is bringing Keith Robinson, assistant professor of sociology at the University of Texas, to Whitman College at 7 p.m. today.

He will present "Parental Involvement and Academic Outcomes: What Works and What Doesn't."

Robinson's presentation will focus on how parents across various socioeconomic and ethnic groups contribute to their child's academic performance and major determinants of inequality in academic achievement.
