Winter weather advisory affects Tri-Cities today

The National Weather service has issued a winter weather advisory that will be in effect all day today.

Between 1 and 3 inches of snow is being called for. The snow is predicted to change to freezing rain this afternoon or evening and continue into Monday morning.

Drivers are asked to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility.

Temperatures are expected to reach a high of around 30 degrees today.

The advisory, which includes the Tri-Cities, Prosser and Connell, will remain in effect until 4 p.m. Monday.
