Information sought on wolf pup found shot

By The Tri-City HeraldFebruary 28, 2014

Anyone with information about a male wolf pup found dead near Milton-Freewater is asked to contact the Oregon State Police.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife passed along an anonymous complaint to the Oregon State Police on Dec. 5 about the wolf. It had been shot near Lincton Mountain in Umatilla County.

A genetic analysis on the carcass showed the wolf was born to the Umatilla River Pack.

Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to call Oregon State Police Northern Command Center at 541-278-4090 or 800-452-7888 and ask for Senior Trooper Dain Gardner, or email him at JDGardne@osp.state.or.us.
