Burglary pattern observed in east Kennewick

— Kennewick police encouraging people in east Kennewick to secure their homes and keep an eye out for suspicious people after a rash of burglaries throughout February.

Six burglaries have occcurred between Highway 395 and Kennewick Avenue, a release said. The break-ins tend to happen between 6 and 10 p.m. with the suspects using rear doors or windows to get into homes.

Televisions, video game consoles, an early 1930s .22-caliber pistol, laptop computers, a Mickey Mouse pillowcase and safes have been stolen from the burglarized homes. Police have recovered the safes and paperwork that was inside them. No suspects have been identified but three men wearing hoodies in an SUV were seen at the scene of one burglary on Clearwater Avenue. Those committing the crimes are also known for disabling motion sensor lights at the homes they break into.
