A 17-year-old has been arrested in Hermiston for reportedly firing a gun, according to Hermiston police.

Police received a report of a shot fired about 1:15 a.m. Thursday in the area of East Beech and Northeast McNary avenues.

Officers responded and found a parked, unoccupied Ford F150 pickup that had been damaged, according to a release.

They later arrested an intoxicated 17-year-old Hermiston boy who was inside 230 E. Beech Ave., Hermiston.

The teen was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree criminal mischief and for being a minor in possession of alcohol and booked into juvenile detention in Pendleton.

While making the arrest, officers also arrested Olga G. Espain, 35, of Hermiston, for interfering with a police officer. She was taken to the Hermiston Police Department and given a citation to appear in court.

Hermiston police Chief Jason Edmiston said this is the seventh time the teen has been arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol since 2010.
