— A Kennewick man was assaulted early this morning after discovering an unidentified man in his travel trailer.

Larry Barnett was taking his trash out just before 6 a.m. when he heard someone inside the trailer in his driveway in the 200 block of Young Place, a release from the Kennewick Police Department said.

When Barnett entered the trailer, the other man confronted and then assaulted him, with both falling outside the trailer and onto the driveway. The man continued to attack Barnett before fleeing toward First Ave.

Barnett suffered injuries to his face from the assault. Police were called and checked the area for the man but he wasn't found. Evidence was recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
