Ecology fines Pasco, College Place companies

By the Herald staffFebruary 18, 2014

Two Pasco companies and one College Place company were among those fined by the Washington state Department of Ecology during fourth quarter 2013.

Ainsworth Collision Center Inc. of Pasco, Barajas Auto Body of Pasco and Electrocoat of College Place each were fined $1,350 in connection with failing to pay the annual air quality minor source registration program fee.

The penalties may be reduced from the issued amount by a settlement or court rulings, according to agency.

The money collected goes to the state's general fund or dedicated pollution prevention accounts.
