Tri-City HeraldFebruary 17, 2014

— A four-car collision Monday afternoon on the blue bridge in Kennewick injured five people and sent one Richland woman to the hospital.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. as four vehicles drove north across the bridge, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Larry D. Muhlbeier, 71, of Pasco, was driving too fast for the road conditions and crashed a semi-truck into a sports utility vehicle driven by Bruce I. McCord, 80, of Pasco, state patrol said.

McCord tried to avoid the collision and crashed the SUV into a Mazda Protege, state patrol said. The semi then hit a Ford Fiesta.

Four people, including McCord, were treated at the scene for injuries, state patrol said. The driver of the Mazda, Monica G. Miller, 50, was taken to Trios Health in Kennewick.
