Letters: Save CREHST building

February 17, 2014

Take note Richland residents! Did you see the recent article in the Tri-City Herald regarding the model train club? The most striking part of the article for me was the explanation of how the club approached the city of Richland to take over the newly empty CREHST building. CREHST is moving to the new Reach Interpretive Center. The city is going to tear down the older building so we can expand the weedy pit on George Washington Way! What are the plans for this eyesore? The old community center has been gone for a long time, yet the weed-filled pit remains.

Remember when the children's museum moved from the community center to Pasco? How can Richland Parks and Recreation not save this building and perhaps use it as a community resource?
