A Montana man wanted on assault and sex charges could be traveling through Washington, according to federal investigators.

Kevin Anthony Briggs, who is either 28 or 24, purchased a one-way bus ticket to Spokane from Missoula on Feb. 1, the FBI said. He may be traveling through Washington to get to Oregon, California or Mexico.

Briggs allegedly assaulted a woman and a police officer in Bozeman, Mont. He managed to escape custody after his arrest and reportedly traveled to Missoula, but has not been seen since.

Federal authorities issued a warrant Feb. 7 for Briggs' arrest on charges of aggravated assault, attempted sexual intercourse without consent, assault on a peace officer and escape. He is already on probation for prior convictions for sexual intercourse without consent, aggravated kidnapping, escape and burglary, all in Montana.

Briggs is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information about his location should contact law enforcement.

He is a white male between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 and weighs between 120 pounds and 150 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes, a sunburst tattoo around his right nipple, a tattoo in his armpit and a tattoo on his lower lip. He also has piercings on his lip, belly button and ears.
