Veterans coalition names new director

By the Herald staffFebruary 14, 2014

The Columbia Basin Veterans Coalition has named Mary Ann Parkhurst its new director of operations.

She will oversee all business aspects at the organization's offices at 1600 N. 20th Ave., Suite A, in Pasco. She also will serve as a case manager for the Wagenaar-Pfister House in Kennewick and the student veteran house in north Richland.

Parkhurst, a former researcher and project manager, has been a volunteer mental health counselor with the veterans coalition since 2008, specializing in trauma relief and civilian life adjustment issues.

The coalition helps veterans leaving service to ease back into civilian life.
