Pasco man accused of attempted stabbing

A Pasco man is being held in the Franklin County jail on $10,000 bail after police say he tried to stab his brother-in-law with a kitchen knife.

Rafael Gabino Ramirez-Ramos, 34, appeared in court Monday. A judge found probable cause to hold him while prosecutors review the case. They have until Wednesday to charge him.

Ramirez-Ramos was arrested Saturday night after a fight at his apartment on the 1300 block of West Shoshone Street in Pasco.

A man called 911 at 9:20 p.m. and reported someone at the apartment tried to stab him, court documents said.

When officers arrived, Jose Luis Castellanos-Juarez, 27, said Ramirez-Ramos got drunk and started fighting with him and another man, court documents said. Ramirez-Ramos is married to Castellanos-Juarez's sister and the men share an apartment.

Ramirez-Ramos allegedly tried to stab Castellanos-Juarez in the head but he was able to block the knife, court documents said.

He and the other man were able to wrestle the knife away and pin Ramirez-Ramos until officers arrived. Ramirez-Ramos denied trying to stab him.
