In Service for Feb. 9

-- Air Force Airman Kirkland R. Jeffers recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

He is the son of Teresa Titzman of Kennewick and a 2012 graduate of Southridge High School, Kennewick.

-- Airman Travis A. Bready, of Kennewick, graduated from Air Force Basic Training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio on Jan. 24.

He was given the "First Airman Award" as the Top Honor Graduate from a class of 589 trainees.

Travis achieved this in spite of being injured and placed in medical hold for three weeks. The winner of this award is chosen by the military instructors and the officers, based on his academic and physical accomplishments.

Travis, the son of Robert and Lori Bready, was born in Kennewick and raised with his brother Marc (also USAF) and his sister Alissa. Travis graduated from Kennewick High School in 2008.

w Marine Corps 1st Lt. Chet A. Boyce, son of Oscar and Laurie Boyce of Kennewick, was recently designated a Naval aviator while serving at Helicopter Training Squadron Eighteen, Milton, Fla.

Boyce was presented with the coveted Wings of Gold, marking the culmination of months of flight training.

Boyce is a 2001 graduate of Southridge High School, Kennewick, and joined the Marine Corps in October 2009.
