Snowy footprints give away suspected Kennewick thief

February 8, 2014

— Kennewick police followed a trail of footprints in fresh snow Saturday morning from a stolen car to a house about nine blocks away.

A stolen Nissan Altima was spotted by a friend of the car’s owner at 10:48 a.m. Saturday in the area of Fourth Avenue and Jefferson Street, according to police reports.

The friend called 911 and followed the Nissan, which had been stolen the night before in Pasco.

Police found the Nissan in the 200 block of South Harrison Street.

Although nobody was in it, there were footprints leading away from it.

Police followed the tracks through backyards for about nine blocks to a home in the 6400 block of West First Avenue.

Kevin B. Burdine, 45, was arrested there on suspicion of possessing a stolen car, according to police reports.
