Wrestling: Sunnyside off to strong sub-regional start

Class 3A sub-regionals: University is out to defend its sub-regional title, finishing the opening day with 135.5 points at Hanford on Friday. Sunnyside is third with 109, while Southridge is sixth with 67.5, Kennewick seventh with 62, Kamiakin ninth with 43 and Hanford 10th with 40.

The Grizzlies have eight wrestlers in semifinals today, while the Suns and Lions have five each, and the Falcons and Braves have three each.

CWAC: The Othello Huskies are in first place after the first day of wrestling at the CWAC district meet, scoring 170 points and placing 12 wrestlers in the semifinals.
