Man accused in Richland car chase arrested in Pasco

Tri-City HeraldFebruary 7, 2014

A 40-year-old man who allegedly stole a pickup truck from a Richland parking lot earlier this week was arrested in Pasco late this morning.

Pasco and Richland police, with help from the U.S. Marshals, took Anthony Roberts into custody after finding him at a hotel on Fourth Street, a release said.

He was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of two counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, felony eluding, hit and run and trespassing.

Authorities have been looking for Roberts since Tuesday, when he drove off in a stolen Chevrolet pickup with a trailer parked outside Fred Meyer on Wellsian Way.

He struck another vehicle as he fled the parking lot and was pursued by police. The chase ended on Carrier Way and Roberts abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
