Pasco police raising money, shave heads to support officer with cancer

Tri-City HeraldFebruary 5, 2014

Pasco police officers are raising money and shaving their heads in support of a department employee who is battling breast cancer.

So far, 22 male officers have shaved their heads to support Shannon Northup.

Northup, a mother of two, was diagnosed with cancer Dec. 5, according to police. She is undergoing chemotherapy.

A female officer has pledged to shave her head on Feb. 28 if the department can raise $5,000 to support Northup as she completes chemotherapy and begins radiation treatment.

The department is planning a spaghetti feed Feb. 28 and is selling bracelets.
