Letter: Media attention helped fill the cupboard

February 5, 2014

Thank you for your monthlong series of articles highlighting local nonprofit agencies. The Herald's series brought much-needed coverage to agencies in the community. The articles brought awareness to the needs of the agencies and an outlet for the public to become involved.

Martha's Cupboard was proud to be included in the articles. The Christmas season brings an increase in requests. It was truly a blessing to also have an increase in donations to meet those needs.

We are grateful for the media coverage and increase in community donations to fulfill Martha's Cupboard's mission of providing personal hygiene items for families and individuals in need. We are so fortunate to live in such a generous community and to have so many faithful volunteers to package our care bags. Donations are gladly accepted year round. The need for toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. never goes out of season. Thank you!
