Letter — Kennewick levy: Yes

February 3, 2014

I really like living in Kennewick. When we moved here 12 years ago from Spokane, where to live was a hard decision. We had four children and have since added one more. The schools were one of the many things we looked at before making our final decision.

Class size is a big thing! Who wants their child to be taught in an overcrowded class? Not me! Having extra classes for my children to be well rounded is important. Who wants flat children and then flat adults? Not me! Who likes having good school ratings? Me! Who likes having your home values go up? Me!

The Kennewick School District levy pays for teachers that the state moneys don't pay for currently. What would happen if 20 percent of the teachers were gone? Class size goes up. Programs get cut. School ratings go down. So does your home value. Who wants to live in a town that doesn't support kids learning? No one.

Please vote YES for the Kennewick School District levy.
