Seattle restaurant to get award in Kennewick

Seattle restaurant Canlis will receive the Restaurant Appreciation Award from the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers during a convention this week at Kennewick's Three Rivers Convention Center.

The "Comfort Greek" restaurant was nominated by growers and wineries because of how its wine list features Washington wines.

Canlis reportedly has one of the finest cellars in the world, with more than 18,000 bottles of 2,500 selections with five sommeliers. In 1997, the restaurant was named Seattle's wine destination and received the first of its 16 consecutive Wine Spectator Magazine Grand Awards.
