Pasco man remains in critical condition after crash

— A 68-year-old Pasco man remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center after he was injured in a head-on collision last week.

Doctors are still trying to determine the full extent of the injuries that Roger W. Cox suffers from the collision, said Leigh Wick, a nonfamily spokesperson for the Cox family. He will need to undergo multiple surgeries because of his injuries, she said.

Cox was driving his motorcycle on Taylor Flats Road in Franklin County when a car crossed the center line and hit him.

The Cox family has asked for privacy as they go through this difficult time, Wick said.

Donations to the family to help with medical expenses can be made through The Living Room Community Church, 1409 S. Garfield St., Kennewick, WA 99337. Indicate the donation is for the Cox family.

Benito Ramirez, the driver of the Acura that crashed into Cox, was arrested and booked into the Franklin County jail on suspicion of vehicular assault.

Authorities said Ramirez, 30, may have been driving under the influence. Witnesses reported seeing him driving erratically. Ramirez was not hurt.
