— A 68-year-old Pasco man remained in critical condition Friday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after a head-on collision Thursday in Franklin County.

Roger W. Cox is in the intensive care unit at Harborview after being transferred from Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with severe leg injuries.

Benito Ramirez, the driver of the Acura that crashed into Cox, was arrested and booked into the Franklin County jail on suspicion of vehicular assault.

Authorities said Ramirez, 30, may have been driving under the influence. Witnesses reported seeing him driving erratically.

Cox was driving a motorcycle north on Taylor Flats Road when the Acura crossed into his lane at 12:11 p.m., said the Washington State Patrol. Ramirez was not hurt.
