College, career event scheduled Saturday in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla Public Schools, College Place Public Schools, Walla Walla Community College and the WSU Gear Up Program have teamed up to offer a day of College and Career Readiness to eighth- through 12th-grade students and their families.

Gear Up 4 Tomorrow begins with a light breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Walla Walla Community College, 500 Tausick Way.

The event will feature numerous speakers, as well as presentations and workshops about scholarships, financial aid, career exploration, college options in high school and more. A catered lunch also will be provided.

The event is free and open to the public.
