Letter -- Richland schools: Yes

January 30, 2014

We should all be proud to support the 11,500 students in the Richland School District by voting yes for the levy. This operations levy will replace the existing levy, which expires the end of 2014. The estimated rate for 2015 and 2016 will be $3.26 per $1000 assessed value, the same as it is now.

The levy covers 18 percent of the district's annual operating costs. It pays for athletics, art, music, physical education, drama, technology upgrades, library books, instructional materials, utilities, bus transportation, building maintenance and many other support costs.

Our children deserve to have a high quality, well-rounded education. The levy makes this happen. Please join me in voting yes for the Richland School District levy.
