Motorcycle rider injured north of Pasco

— A motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital Thursday after a head-on collision on Taylor Flats Road in Franklin County.

Roger W. Cox, 68, of Pasco, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland with severe leg injuries. His condition was not immediately available .

Cox was driving the motorcycle north on Taylor Flats Road around 12:11 p.m. when an Acura crossed the center line and crashed into him, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the Acura, Benito Ramirez, 30, may have been under the influence when the crash took place, authorities said. Ramirez, of Kennewick, was not injured.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.
