Semi jack-knifes Jan. 26 on Highway 221

Driving too fast for weather conditions caused a semi tractor-trailer to jack-knife on Highway 221, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Driver of the rig, Romera Flores Rojas, 42, from Ontario, Ore., was not injured after his northbound 2004 Freightliner tractor and box trailer slid across the southbound lane and struck an embankment, WSP report stated.

No alcohol or drugs were involved with the crash and the driver was wearing a seatbelt.
