Fast Focus 'What can the Tri-Cities to do better reserve open spaces?' Priceless

January 26, 2014

Where will your grandchildren play?

If we lose the open spaces that allow us to run and roam and explore, what have we really lost?

Where will certain birds nest to birth their offspring? If we lose open spaces, where do the birds go?

Where will the rabbits forage for food ? If we lose open spaces where do the creatures roam?

Think about it. We need to preserve a way of life that for many, simply will not live well without the open land and spaces they need to survive -- including Homo sapiens.

The measurable cost, as in taxes or another mechanism, in order to preserve open spaces is relatively small.

There is an unquantifiable cost for not preserving open space.
