Friends, family remember Kennewick woman struck by train

January 24, 2014

Sam Frank of Kennewick, left, boyfriend of Mindy Williams, a Kennewick woman who died after being struck by a train in October, releases balloons in her honor with Williams’ son Casey Wakefield, daughter Briana Wakefield and friend Roni Rios, all of Kennewick.

Frank is still recovering from almost having his arm severed by the train and faces several more surgeries.

Friends are holding a fundraiser Feb. 15 at the Emerald of Siam in the Uptown Shopping Center in Richland.

Tom Gnoza will perform an acoustic dinner set at 5:30 p.m. followed by The Millionaires Club at 9 p.m. The Lures from Seattle then will play until 1 a.m.

A silent auction is planned between sets with proceeds going toward expenses for Frank, who is homeless. A $5 donation is suggested at the door.
