'Cement Suitcase' on screen Jan. 31 in Prosser

A special screening of the movie Cement Suitcase, directed by Rick Castaneda, will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Princess Theatre in downtown Prosser.

The movie was filmed in the Lower Valley, where Castaneda was raised, and follows the Valley's top wine salesman who hates his life. His girlfriend is cheating on him. Then he meets the other guy and sort of likes him. Ultimately, he decides to quit being such a putz and get happy.

The film has won awards at four film festivals along the West Coast, including Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles and the Gig Harbor Film Festival near Tacoma.

Admission to the show is $5.
