Oregon trooper recruit set to graduate today

Oregon State Patrol recruit Trooper Zachary Kowing will graduate today from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Basic Police Program.

He will be working in Hermiston in the patrol division.

Twenty-four graduating recruit officers include 10 OSP recruit troopers, nine city police recruit officers and five county sheriff's recruit deputies.

The graduation ceremony is in Salem.

Substitutes needed in Richland School District

The Richland School District is seeking applicants for the positions of substitute secretaries, teachers, and paraeducators.

"We have an immediate need for more substitutes so we encourage interested community members to apply," said Tony Howard, executive director of Human Resources.
