Ridges to Rivers Open Space Network gets national award

Tri-City HeraldJanuary 22, 2014

Ridges to Rivers Open Space Network plans to announce today that it is receiving a national award for its Open Space Network Vision Plan.

The American Planning Association plans to award the document its 2014 national Planning Excellence Award for a Grassroots Initiative. The comprehensive open space and trails conservation plan for the Mid-Columbia was created at the grassroots level over six years by a steering committee.

The plan brings together cities and counties in the Tri-City area to preserve and enhance open space, including amending comprehensive plans and developing hillside standards.
