Letter: Donations benefit Children's Developmental Center

January 22, 2014

As executive director of the Children's Developmental Center, I would like to thank the Tri-City Herald and staff writer Ty Beaver for the heart-warming articles featuring local nonprofits in our community.

The CDC received an outpouring of cash, toys and office supply donations as a result of the article featured on Dec. 18. This generous support from community members will allow us to purchase needed supplies and interactive toys for use with the children and families we serve.

The mission of the center is to provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers with developmental delays and challenges by empowering families and assisting children to reach their fullest potential. We are so grateful to live in a community that is so giving, caring and compassionate. Thank you all!

Tri-City Herald is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
