— A 51-year-old was hit by a car Tuesday after he got off a bus and tried to cross Clearwater Avenue.

Troy Allen was taken to the emergency room at Trios Health in Kennewick following the collision, said Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin. He has leg and head injuries.

Allen got off the Ben Franklin Transit bus at 11:15 a.m. and tried to cross north across Clearwater, Lattin said. A 17-year-old girl in a Dodge Challenger pulled out of Sterling’s Restaurant parking lot and hit Allen.

Allen walked directly in front of the Challenger, Lattin said. The teen was not at fault in the crash.
