2 cars crash on Highway 395

January 21, 2014

— A woman driving a sports utility vehicle caused a two-car collision Tuesday on Highway 395 in Kennewick when she ran a red light, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Danielle L. Hayden, 38, of Renton, was driving north when she ran the light and smashed her Lexus RX350 into a Nissan Exterra, state patrol said. The SUVs collided in the intersection near 19th Avenue around 12:29 p.m.

Hayden and the Exterra’s driver, Marilyn Wright, 57, of Kennewick, were treated at the scene for injuries, state patrol said. Neither woman was taken to a hospital.

Hayden was cited for failing to yield, state patrol said. Both the SUVs were totaled and towed from the scene.
