Kennewick police break up underage drinking party

By the Herald staffJanuary 20, 2014

Kennewick police say they arrested three teens and had to take a fourth to the hospital after breaking up an underage drinking party on Sunday.

Police arrested a 13-year-old and 14-year-old as they hid in a backyard near the party, Sgt. Ken Lattin said. Both teens were intoxicated. They were released to their parents.

Police found a 17-year-old boy so intoxicated he was taken to Trios Health in Kennewick, Lattin said. A 19-year-old was also arrested for fighting with officers.

A 16-year-old threw the party Sunday at his house on the 1800 block of W. 28th Ave. while his dad was working the night shift, police said. Neighbors called to report two people fighting.

When officers showed up, partygoers scattered, police said. Neighbors called to report juveniles hiding in their backyards.

Police found alcohol inside the house, Lattin said. It didn't appear parents were present during the party, he said.
