Crowd gathers in Pasco for Martin Luther King Jr. bell ringing

January 20, 2014

A crowd gathered Monday at Columbia Basin College in Pasco despite chilly Mid-Columbia temperatures to honor Martin Luther King Jr. About 250 were in attendance for the rest of the celebration, featuring music from the Federation of Choirs, crafts for kids and speakers inside the Gjerde Center at CBC. Retired environmental researcher Wayne Martin was honored as the Martin Luther King Jr. Spirit Award winner.

The event was one of several around the region recognizing the slain Civil Rights leader.
