Othello family taken to hospital after SUV crashes

Tri-City HeraldJanuary 19, 2014

— An Othello family was treated and released from a hospital Sunday after a sports utility vehicle crashed into a concrete barrier on Highway 26.

Erika Verduzco, 34, was driving east of Othello around 8:30 a.m. when she lost control of a Dodge Durango crossing a bridge, according to the Washington State Patrol. The Durango hit a guardrail before striking the barrier.

Verduzco was driving too fast for the road conditions, state patrol said.

Verduzco and four others, including three juveniles, were all taken to Othello Community Hospital, state patrol said.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck, state patrol said. The Durango was totaled and towed from the scene.
