Fast Focus: 'What would you like to see state lawmakers accomplish this session?' Institution-free living

January 19, 2014

Let us have our freedom -- that excludes living in an institution. People in institutions don't have a say in what they would like to eat, when to eat or any of the things we take for granted. I am a person with disabilities and I can't imagine living in an institution. I love my freedom and hope Gov. Inslee will rethink his proposed budget that favors institutions and, instead, spend those dollars on help for the 14,000 people with disabilities who have no services.
