Pasco man killed when truck rolls down embankment

— A Pasco man was killed Saturday morning when he lost control of a pickup truck and crashed on Kahlotus Road.

Angel Carreno Astudillo, 29, died at the scene of the crash around 7:15 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol. He was not wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in the truck, Otoniel Melchor Taffola, 32, of Kennewick, was injured but was not taken to a hospital.

Astudillo lost control on the icy road nine miles east of Pasco and the Chevy pickup rolled down an embankment, state patrol said. He was not under the influence.

The pickup was totaled and towed from the scene.
