Boys basketball: Porter's late free throws lift Walla Walla to win

Gabe Porter made two free throws late to ice Walla Walla’s 44-41 victory over visiting Kamiakin on Friday in Mid-Columbia Conference action.

The Braves jumped out to a 17-11 lead after the first quarter, but the Blue Devils held their opponents to just three points in the second quarter to take control.

“Second quarter defensively, it was an important quarter for us,” Walla Walla coach John Golden said.

Ross Lake had 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead Walla Walla, while Kylle Robertson had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Kamiakin.

RICHLAND 92, SOUTHRIDGE 66: Payton Radliff scored a game-high 23 points and Jacob DeVries added 21 as visiting Richland routed Southridge in a Mid-Columbia Conference game.

Steven Beo added 17 points for the Bombers, while Nathan Streufert had 16. Daniel Getchell and Cole Pitt each scored 15 points to lead Southridge.
