Elderly Kennewick couple injured in Highway 395 crash

By The Tri-City HeraldJanuary 17, 2014

An elderly Kennewick couple was injured Friday evening when a pickup pulled in front of their sedan on Highway 395.

A Washington State Patrol report blamed Miguel C. Armenta for failing to yield the right of way to the 1998 Ford Taurus, that was southbound on the highway at Eltopia West Road.

Armenta, 48, of Pasco, had been at a stop sign on Eltopia West Road in his 1990 Chevrolet truck when he pulled into the path of the Ford, the state patrol said.

Armenta was not injured.

Driver Bobby J. Alley, 78, and passenger Ileen B. Alley, 76, both were taken to Trios Health in Kennewick for treatment.

Troopers said all of them were wearing seat belts in the 5:20 p.m. crash.

The Alleys both were listed in good condition Friday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
