Leadership Tri-Cities Class XIX project focuses on homeless shelter

Tri-City HeraldJanuary 16, 2014

The Leadership Tri-Cities Class XIX has selected Therapeutic Innovations and Recovery of Kennewick as the focus of its community class project.

Also known as "Ken and Teresa's Place," the facility is a daytime homeless shelter that provides food, laundry services, shower facilities and counseling to those in need.

The class project includes making capital improvements on the building, including the addition of benches to the entry way, painting exterior walls, adding supplies for the kitchen and food handler's program and improving the courtyard area. The facility is at 2625 W. Bruneau Place, Suite D, Kennewick.

Leadership Tri-Cities Class XIX was formed in August 2013 and is made up of seventeen members who represent a wide array of industries in the Tri-City community. Each class selects a community project as part of its year-long program. Class members are responsible for all aspects of the project that must be completed prior to the LTC program's graduation in June 2014.

Contributions to the project can be made directly to Therapeutic Innovations and Recovery by calling 713-3140. Financial donations, corporate scholarship opportunities and donations of building materials will be welcomed.
