Chiawana athletic director John Cazier confirmed that the Riverhawks will face Camas in the 2014 season opener in football this fall.

Chiawana beat Camas 27-26 to win the school’s first state football title in December, scoring twice in the final minute to rally past the Papermakers.

The teams will play in Camas in 2014, before playing in Pasco in 2015.

“They have some good younger kids coming up, as do we,” Cazier said by text message. “Both our (freshman) and JV (teams) have been strong.”

Football schedules for the fall are still being finalized for teams, with most hoping to wrap them up by the end of January.
