Football: Greater Spokane League splits

January 9, 2014

The Greater Spokane League broke into a Class 4A and a Class 3A league Thursday according to The Spokesman Review.

With University High’s move to 4A, the GSL features six 4A teams and four 3A teams. Rather than continue to play a mixed schedule as they have done for years, the Spokane schools decided to switch to separate leagues.

The split should provide for more some of the smaller 3A schools to have success. North Central has only had three winning seasons in the last 40 years and Rogers hasn’t had any.
