Daryl Wright comedy at Jokers on Jan. 16-18

January 9, 2014

Comedian Daryl Wright

Comic Daryl Wright performs his standup routine Jan. 16-18 at Jokers Comedy Club on Wellsian Way in Richland. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Cover charge is $15 at the door.

Wright replaces Brad Williams, who had to cancel because of a TV engagement.

His comedy encompasses a hard life growing up in Washington, D.C., where he spent time in a gang, then jail before moving to San Antonio, where he moved in with a friend who also was a comedian, and whose parents were oddly enough members of the Ku Klux Klan, Wright jokes occasionally in his routines.

Wright then moved from Texas to New York, where the culture shock landed him broke and homeless for a time before he found his way to Los Angeles and eventually becoming a comic headliner at the famous Melrose Improv.
