Hanford Reach tours available in January

Tri-City HeraldJanuary 8, 2014

Public tours of the Hanford Reach Interpretive Center, under construction now at the west end of Columbia Park, will continue being available by appointment through Jan. 31

But after that, the site -- which is growing more busy as the facility comes together -- will be closed to the public until the center's grand opening in July, officials announced this week.

The $3.35 million interpretive center includes a 14,000-square-foot main level with two galleries, a multipurpose room, a film viewing room, a great hall, offices and a store.

It also has a 10,000-square-foot basement. To sign up for one of the remaining tour slots, call 943-4100.
